Pilot Farms

Tangible outputs aim to improve the supply chains in the pilot areas and can be exploited directly and in future projects:

• characterization of existing milk supply chain in the 3 pilot areas keeping an eye on future challenges;
• milk life cycle assessment;
• technical workshops in collaboration with local breeders’ associations and authorities;
• 45 pilot farms: implementation of innovative hi-tech tools to monitor soil, feed, animals, and milk;
• development of an APP for farmers to monitor market, weather, and internal farm situation for decision-making;
• promotion of circular strategies for optimization and self-sufficiency (local crops and by-products, manure management, etc).
